A personal introduction

Hello,I'm Rory.

Editing films since 1996. Still waiting for the render.

01 / Story

Filmmaker, and reluctant woodcutter.

On Set, directing a crew. Considerably easier than six children.

I'm Rory, a filmmaker and editor, and a father of six. That's not a typo, I've counted. My children teach me something new every day, mostly about how little I know.

I'm UK based now, but for a time lived in Sweden (Hej Sverige!), where I chopped wood in the countryside at -26°C. With a brood of children in the house, it was the quietest part of the day.

I spent fourteen years in marketing, but film was always the root. I've been cutting film since the ancient days of Adobe Premiere 6 in the 90s, which makes me a veteran of the craft and a suspiciously young one. After theatre school, media studies and a short stint at a film school that has since closed (I'm choosing not to read anything into that), I went back to my roots in 2014. I now run Knighton Studios, an independent film studio.

Eight of those marketing years were spent in food and drink, with FUEL10K, a2 Milk and Tonic Health. I also launched a couple of brands of my own, including Runaway sugar-free chocolate, and Eleven Energy drinks. More recently I was privileged to work with the man, the myth, the legendary vampire Bryan Johnson, and grow his YouTube channel, bringing the "don't die" phenomenon to millions of screens around the world.

Weekends are for climbing. I'm a boulderer and rock climber, which in practice means monkeying around on rocks and walls with the kids.
